Position Summary

The Post Closing Associate will review a portfolio of all Commercial, SBA, Consumer and Residential new and modified loans for accuracy and completeness.  The incumbent will be responsible for accuracy of files, collateral set up in the Bank's core system and will also be responsible for file integrity and insuring our lien positions are accurate and maintained.     

Essential Functions

  • Check in and audit collateral files, including new loans for Commercial, SBA and Consumer departments including:
    • Verify the accuracy of loan documentation and compliance with Unity Bank policy including, but not limited to proper loan approvals
    • Use checklist to mark and determine that all required documents have been scanned to Director
    • Follow up with closers, analysts, attorneys to help correct any deficiencies in the files
    • Send documents to appropriate county clerk for recording
    • Work with 3rd party vendors to set up loans for tax and insurance tracking as required by Bank Policy
  • Add and update collateral information in Navigator with information including, collateral position, collateral value, insurance tracking
  • Prepare a weekly report to track all recordable documents outstanding; follow up when documents are 90 days from the original loan closing
  • Prepare monthly Collateral/Credit Files received report to track ensure the loan closers are submitting the files within 45 days of closing (per Bank Policy)
  • Track UCC expiration dates and file amendments/extensions as necessary
  • Prepare loan files to be submitted to outside counsel to begin litigation process
  • Follow up with closing department, title companies, and attorneys for trailing documents such as mortgages, assignments of leases and rents, and title policies.
  • Prepare all necessary documentation and information to submit wrap up reports for repurchased SBA loans
  • Assist in drafting modifications if necessary
  • Assist in the regularly conducted department audits.
  • Respond to internal and external customer requests as necessary
  • Other responsibilities as needed

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent.


Licenses and Certifications


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing data, files, and records, designing forms, and other office procedures.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment including proficiency in Word and Excel.
  • Ability to collaborate and relate well to all kinds of people, build appropriate rapport and constructive, effective relationships, and use tact and diplomacy to handle situations comfortably.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, analyze, and interpret legal documents, governmental regulations, and professional publications.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
  • Ability to speak and write clearly in order to effectively convey information so that others understand and as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit for long periods of time up to 75% of work hours.
  • Ability to use hands to grasp, handle or feel.
  • Ability to use computer keyboard and system to enter data and process information.
  • Ability to read a computer screen at a close distance.
  • Ability to talk, hear, and see.
  • Ability to use telephone to communicate with customers and employees.
  • Ability to use office equipment such as teller scanner, personal computer, telephone, mobile device, copier, fax machine, adding machine, etc.
  • Ability to lift up to 10 lbs. at least 10% of work hours.



Working Conditions


  • Moderate sound as in business office with office machines, computers, and people traffic.
  • Open floor work environment.
